Some notes about the presentation of the standard (especially the
app_defs.sys file)
-----
Instead of 'Gem-list compliant', which doesn't really sound catchy,
we should try something more commercial. More like the 'General MIDI'
standard in music interfaces. What about an icon:
==GL 1== (standard shortcuts)
standard
and ==GL 2== (app_defs.sys support)
standard
with a nice outline, much like the 'Intel Inside' logo? (which has
proved to be very merchantable) I'll post GIFs/CVG's monday. No immediate
need for people to see the words 'Gem List'. They don't make sense to
the man in the street.
-----
I had some ideas about a practical extension of Warwick's stuff into
a C module. The module takes care of EVERYTHING including converting the
shortcuts (k_code, k_shift) into an application-specific action code.
Following Warwick's app_defs file contents. I'll post details,
hopefully, monday. Hopefully they work out into quality stuff.
In that case, however, I will want 'ZFC' mentioned whenever the
code is used :-)
BTW, I leave it up to the BASIC people to convert the modular stuff to
their languages. Seems very hard to do in BASIC, if you ask me...
And I don't think we should compromise because of the lack of strength
of BASIC as an app development system...
regards,
